Evans, GA – Mrs. Edith Young Poe, 95, of Knob Hill Circle went to her heavenly home on October 1, 2016 surrounded by family. She resided and was cared for by her daughter, Musa and grandson, Chris Anderson.

Edith was a native of Thomson, Georgia and the daughter of the late Claude Young and the late Mattie Cox Young. After growing up in Thomson, Edith married Patrick Poe and they made their home in Sepulveda, California. After retirement, in 1978 she and her husband moved to Thomson, Georgia where Edith became active with the Red Cross Blood Drive for many years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Poe and son, Patrick Poe, II. Survivors include her daughters, Ginny Dangle of Green Valley, Arizona, Judy Crowell of Tucson, Arizona and Musa Anderson of Evans, Georgia; step daughter, Patricia Greco of Palm Desert, California; sister, Janie Sue Rabun of Stapleton, Georgia; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 3 o'clock p.m., Wednesday, October 5th in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Dunaway officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
