Edith Chalker Langford

Mrs. Edith Chalker Langford, 90, entered into eternal rest on July 5, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Langford grew up in Warren County, GA and was the daughter of the late Joe Lawrence Chalker and the late Nell Johnson Chalker.  She was Methodist by faith and a member of Johnson Methodist Church and a member of the Elizabeth McNeil Missionary Circle of Warrenton United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Langford was retired from teaching in the public school system for 30 years in the Counties of Richmond, Warren and Glascock and after her retirement from the public school system she taught for seven years at Briarwood Academy.  Edith was a kind, loving and unselfish person.  She loved her family and friends and the many students she taught over the years.  What Mrs. Langford did for others, she did out of love and expected nothing in return.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Allen Langford and her brother, Gene Chalker.  Survivors include her brother, Wayne Chalker; her sister, Reba Allen; her sister-in-law, Stella Chalker; her nieces and nephews, Vicki Jones (Wayne), Rusty Allen, Debbie Radford (Randy), Mark Chalker (Teresa), Becky Gunn, Peggy Newsome (James) and Bobby Chalker (Sheryll); and many great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews along with many special family friends.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., Friday at Johnson Methodist Church, Warrenton, Georgia. A graveside service will immediately follow at 11 o'clock in Johnson Cemetery with Rev. Jessica Blackwood officiating.  Pallbearers for the service are Ethan Ansley, Carson Ansley, Chloe Poss, Justin Gunn, Mark Chalker, Guy Poss and Tab Ansley.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
