Edgar "Ed" Stapleton Norman Appling, Georgia - Mr. Edgar "Ed" Stapleton Norman, 45, entered into rest January 17, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Stapleton Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Michael Arrington, Jr., Drew Arrington, Steve Watts, Jimmy Beasley, Joshua Houck, Kevin Rodgers, John Goble, Lou Tyrpin, Allen Arnold, Brett Cathey, Joshua Tyrpin and Billy Bass. Mr. Norman was born in Burke County, Georgia and lived in Columbia County for many years. He was retired from W. H. Hall Printing Company. Mr. Norman was a member of Damascus Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Diane Jones Norman; daughter, Amanda Vanderhoef of Athens; mother, Wilma Watts Smith and husband, Charles of Martinez; brothers, Mike Arrington and wife, Pam of Lincolnton, Wayne Arrington and wife, Leigh of Appling, Alan Norman and wife, Nancy of Winfield; sister, Rosemary Stapleton and son, Conner of Albany; uncle, Jack Stapleton of Winder and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
