EARL "DOODLE" SMITH GEORGIA PACIFIC SUPERVISOR EARL "DOODLE" SMITH 63 of Smith Lane, Gibson, GA entered into rest Monday, February 25, 2008. He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Vivian Swint Smith. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Tommy Pulliam and Tommy Harwell officiating. Internment will follow at Magnolia Baptist Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born in Warren County but lived most of his life in Glascock County. He was the son of the late Shady Earl Smith and the late Mary Laura Chalker Williford. He was retired from Georgia Pacific after 31 years as a supervisor. Mr. Smith was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church. Survivors include: Wife: Vivian Smith - Gibson, GA Sister: Carolyn Padgett (Hill) - Warrenton, GA Mother-in-law: Corene Todd - Gibson, GA Sister-in-law: Elaine Gilmer (Allen) - Gibson, GA Nephew: Michael Gilmer (Stephanie) - Gibson, GA Great Nephew & Niece: Breanna and Boone Gilmer Several other nieces and nephews. Mr. Smith was also preceded in death by his son Jimmy Smith and sisters Hazel Smith Hunnicutt and Erlene Smith Padgett Visitation will be from 7 until 9 pm Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the funeral home.
