Mr. Hugh Duanne Humphrey, 67, of Dearing, Georgia, entered into his heavenly home on Saturday, June 26, 2021.  He was born in Milledgeville, Georgia, on October 5, 1953.  Duanne was a devout Christian, and he served faithfully as organist at Second Baptist Church for over 40 years.

Duanne was a graduate of Brewton Parker College, attended Georgia College and Augusta State where he majored in music.  His careers included manager of Newsome's Grocery, owner of Duanne's Tire Sales, and Technical Services Technician at Oconee RESA in Sandersville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Darvin Humphrey; his sister, Stephanie Humphrey McCord; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh A. Humphrey.  Duanne was blessed with a loving family and was survived by his wife of 45 years, Liz Humphrey; his two daughters, Lorri Hathaway (Brian) and Rebekah Mitchell (Jared); his five grandchildren, Madison Hathaway (17), Brandon Hathaway (13), Thomas Mitchell (12), Samuel Mitchell (10) and Hannah Mitchell (6).  He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Brown; and his brother, Chris Humphrey.  In addition to his immediate family, Duanne is survived by three Aunts, Faye Montgomery-Wood, Joanne Harris and Dahlia Calton, a special cousin, Danny Johnson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Pastors Danny Burnley and Brandon Furr officiating.  Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
