Growing up amidst the rolling hills of South Carolina, Doyle was a graduate of Walhalla High School. His love for the natural world led him to pursue and earn a degree in Horticulture from Clemson University, a testament to his appreciation for the beauty and intricacies of plant life. He spent over two decades employed by Becton Dickson Medical, where his work ethic and reliability were well-regarded by his peers. In addition to his corporate career, Doyle was a man of many talents. He owned and operated a home improvement business in recent years. Known for his kind nature and handy skills, he had a knack for transforming spaces and lives with his meticulous craftsmanship and warm smile. Doyle's commitment to his faith was unwavering. A faithful member of Refuge Baptist Church, he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Trustee, touching the lives of many through his spiritual leadership and compassionate guidance. His devotion to his church and community was a beacon of light, inspiring those around him to live with purpose and love. A resident of Fairplay for many years before moving to Central, Doyle's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for flower gardening and he also enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia Partridge and his children, whom he loved dearly: sons Steven Edward Capps of Pendleton, Benjamin Curtis Capps of Easley, and daughter Eva Elizabeth Kelley of Liberty. His memory will also be cherished by his brothers, Donnie Eugene Capps, David Evan Capps, Dale Everett Capps, and Haskell Eugene Capps, as well as his twenty beloved grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren who will miss their grandfather's gentle presence and boundless kindness.
