Douglas Pentecost Thomson, GA - Mr. James Douglas Pentecost, 69, of Stagecoach Rd. entered into rest March 16, 2013. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the First Baptist Church,Thomson with Rev. Butch Baston, Rev. Lester Jenkins and Ralph Starling officiating. Mr. Pentecost was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Georgia and was the son of the late Johnny Pentecost and the late Jeanette Corbin Pentecost. He was a 1961 graduate of Thomson High School and was an outstanding athlete. Mr. Pentecost served in the U. S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era. He was former President of the Bank of Thomson, former President of Allied Bank Shares and former City President of Queensborough National Bank, Thomson. Mr. Pentecost was a former recipient of the Paul Harris Rotarian Award. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed fishing and was an expert on Indian Artifacts. Mr. Pentecost had a passion for helping others. Survivors include his beloved wife, Katrina "Tina" Pentecost; son, James D. "Jamie" Pentecost, Jr. of Senoia, GA; daughters, Laurie Pentecost Tricas and husband, Chris of Grovetown and Courtney Pentecost of Thomson; brothers, Johnny Pentecost of Dearing and David Pentecost of Thomson; sisters, Ruth P. Hutchinson of Thomson and Peggy P. Harris of Appling; and grandchildren, Dylan Grzybowski and Morgan Grzybowski. Friends may call at the residence of Ruth P. Hutchinson, 3134 Washington Road, Thomson, Georgia and the family will receive friends there from 5 until 8 p.m, Monday, March 18, 2013. Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
