MRS. DOROTHY R. REED Retired Dental Hygienist Augusta, Ga Mrs. Dorothy Rowell Reed, 92 formerly of Ware Rd. entered into rest Tuesday, July 28th at Westwood Extended Care, Evans, Ga. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 31st  from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 pm at Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church, 1441 Jackson Rd. , Augusta, Ga Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1st at 11 a.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton with Rev. Lamar Holley officiating. Interment will follow in Lincolnton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Reed, daughter of the late James Bohler and Louise Daniel Rowell, was born on a farm in Greens Cut, Ga. After marriage and birth of two children, she completed an apprentice program at Ft Gordon to become a dental hygienist, and retired from the Augusta VA after 35 years of service. Then, she and her husband, Lester, bought an airstream camper and travelled to all of the continental United States except Alaska. Often, they were accompanied by their grandchildren, all of whom have fond memories of their travels. A strong, independent, kind woman, Dot was always available and helpful to anyone in need and a mentor to many who will miss her. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
