Dorothy Goolsby Holloway

Mrs. Dorothy Goolsby Holloway, 94, of Lincolnton, entered into rest Friday, November 11, 2022, at Augusta University Health.

A graveside service is planned for Monday, November 14 at 3:00 PM at Double Branches Baptist Church.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Holloway was born on October 9, 1928, to the late Jim and Maude LeRoy Goolsby.  She attended Four Points School and graduated from Lincolnton High School.  Mrs. Holloway worked in the cafeteria of the Lincoln County High School and later served as cafeteria manager, retiring after 33 years of service.  In this position, she was able to show off her amazing cooking skills.  Her independent spirit allowed her to live on her own until only a few days ago.  She was a member of Double Branches Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, JM Holloway, her brothers; JT Goolsby, Harold Goolsby, Lamar Goolsby and Bill Goolsby, and her sister, Mary Fox.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Holloway Aycock and husband, Alva, and Leigh Holloway Aycock, and husband Barney, and the greatest loves of her life, her grandchildren Adam Aycock, Ashlyn Aycock Castleberry and husband, Justin, Hilary Aycock Daniel, and husband, Brannon, and Jared Aycock, and her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Reed, Andrew DeRaps, Henley Daniel, Benjamin Daniel, Rhett Castleberry and Cameron Castleberry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Double Branches Baptist Church.
