Thomson, Georgia- Mrs. Dorothy V. Hobbs, 87, entered into rest September 1, 2016.

Mrs. Hobbs was born in Baltimore, MD on June 2, 1929 and married the late Clarence W. Hobbs on November 25, 1948.  She moved to Thomson, GA in 1998 and fell in love with the people and peace and quiet of the area of Happy Valley Road.  Mrs. Hobbs was a member of Little Brier Creek Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, devoted mother, aunt and friend who shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 87 years God granted her on this earth.  Mrs. Hobbs, in her day, was a great turtle shooter, loved blue crabs, big shrimp and frying fresh catfish from her pond.  Death cannot destroy precious memories and she shall live forever in the hearts of her loved ones.  The family would like to express its sincere thanks for the care and concern provided to Mrs. Hobbs by the doctors and nurses at Augusta University Hospital and Thomson Manor.   In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hobbs was predeceased by her son, Dave W. Hobbs of Baltimore, MD.

Survivors include her son, Richard A. Hobbs of Thomson, GA.

A service celebrating Mrs. Hobbs's life will be held on Saturday, September 17 th at 10:00 a.m. at Little Brier Creek Baptist Church, dress will be casual.  The family will receive friends after the service in the church hall.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Little Brier Creek Baptist Church, c/o Julia Massey, 3580 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Thomson, GA 30824
