Dorothy C. Farr

Dorothy C. Farr Thomson, GA- Mrs. Dorothy Cartledge Farr, 89, of Cobbham Rd. entered into rest February 18, 2014. She was the beloved widow of the late Luther  Edwin "Bud" Farr. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock a.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Farr was born in Columbia County, GA and lived in McDuffie County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Stewart Cartledge and the late Annie Maude Miles Cartledge. Mrs. Farr worked at Thomson Company and later worked at Ft. Gordon where she retired from the printing department. She was also a faithful and devoted member of Sharon Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Donald Edwin Farr and wife, Carol of Thomson; brothers, Stewart Cartledge of Appling, Aubrey Cartledge of Marietta; grandchildren, Brian Edwin Farr and wife, Tara, Brandon Cartledge Farr; and great granddaughter, Emily Ryan Farr. Memorials may be made to the Sharon Baptist Church Building Fund, 6262 Cobbham Rd., Appling, GA 30802. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, GA is in charge of arrangements.
