Denise Marie (Tankersley) Agy

Born in Thomson, Georgia, Denise's early years were spent residing in the community of Winfield, Georgia.  Denise graduated from Harlem High School in 1983.  Later residing in Rock Island, Illinois, Denise was blessed to live and visit different places, meeting and touching many lives along the way.  Denise was passionate about music, playing piano in her early days and finding comfort in songs about Jesus all the rest.  She cared so deeply for her family and loved ones.  She taught herself how to crochet in the last few years and spend a lot of time making special things to make people smile.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and shopping for all the pretty dresses.  She prioritized her weekly Bible studies and was so passionate about what she was learning.  She was always so eager to share with anyone and everyone-from those nearest and dearest, to any stranger she encountered.  She loved serving God above all else and was a proud daughter of the King.

Denise was preceded in death by her father, Allen Tankersley, Sr.  She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin, friend and "Meems".  Denise is survived by her dad and mom:  Donn and Lauren Reiswig; her siblings, Becky Tankersley Pentecost, Allen Tankersley, Jr., Jamie Tankersley, Tracy Tankersley Welsh, Todd, Justin, and Shane Reiswig.  One of Denise's greatest joys was being a bonus mom to Treena Agy Adams, Tiffany Agy Kohrt and Tabitha Agy Riner, which gave her beautiful grandchildren that nicknamed her "Meems"; her grandchildren,  Timmy, Elijah, Mylee, Grace, Connor, Norah, Harper, Avery, Claire and a great grandchild to be born in March.  Along with being a "Meems" to many children who knew her, she so lovingly enjoyed having her home filled with their visits.
