Mrs. Deloris Ann Faircloth Sims, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2023, in Augusta, Georgia. She was born on April 21, 1945, in Chatham County, Georgia. Her childhood was marked by travels across the globe, owing to her stepfather's career in the US Army. This exposure to diverse cultures and experiences instilled in her a sense of adventure that stayed with her throughout her life. During her adulthood she lived in Augusta and then Lincolnton, where she spent most of her life. Deloris was a dedicated professional, working in retail sales at the Fort Gordon Post Exchange for over 20 years. Her hard work and commitment were admired by her colleagues and customers alike. However, work was just one aspect of her life. Deloris had a passion for bowling, shopping, camping, and collecting nutcrackers. Her adventurous spirit was evident in her love for the outdoors and her joy in discovering new things. Above all, Deloris was a family woman. She was the loving wife of David Sims and mother to her daughter, Michelle Henderson, and her husband, Lawrence. She also leaves to cherish her memory, sisters, Reba Mealing and Gloria Kudirko Sloan; nieces, Stephanie Tyrpin, Linda Adams, Kim Best Murdaugh, and great-niece, Marie Adams, and nephews, Stephen Sloan, Ronnie Faircloth, and Terry Best; grandchildren, Michael D. Wood, Jr., and Gabriela Ann Maddux, and great-grandson, Bryson Rester. Her grandchildren and great-grandson brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Faircloth and Fannie Meeks Kudirko, and her brothers, Brooks Faircloth and John B. Faircloth.
