Thomson, GA- Mr. Delma G. Smith, Jr., 73, of Windsor Way entered into rest March 12, 2015.

Mr. Smith was born in Washington County, GA to the late Delma G. Smith, Sr. and the late Agnes Garner Smith. He served in the U. S. Army in Korea and during Vietnam and retired as a Master Sergeant specializing in Avionics. Mr. Smith lived in Huntsville, AL for many years and retired from Raytheon Service with 20 years of service as a Logistics Engineer. He moved to Thomson in 2004 and is a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was also preceded in death by sisters, Carrie Belle Carr, Eva Adams, Nell Smith, Betty Cheely, and Linda Phillips.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Peggy Jackson Smith; beloved daughter, Lisa Smith and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m., Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church.
