Deborah Faye (Broome) Gayton

Deborah Faye "Debbie" Gayton, 65, of Newtown Road, Washington, passed away on February 28, 2024, in Augusta after an extended illness.

A memorial service is planned for Monday, March 4, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton.

She was born in Wilkes County where she grew up helping her father in his upholstery business.  Debbie worked as a seamstress in her younger days and later enjoyed a career at Rockin R as a supervisor.  Her favorite hobby was reading and she will be remembered as having a "feisty" personality by her friends and family.

Debbie is survived by her brothers; Wade Broome of Florida and John Quarles, of Thomson, sisters; Tina Levens, of South Carolina and Pam Turner, of Lincolnton; uncles Thad Broome and Frank Broome, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Broome, brother, Henry Broome, and sister, Patricia Broome.
