David Olin Smith Thomson, Georgia- Mr. David Olin Smith, 50 of Pinedale Drive entered into rest February 4, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was born in Milledgeville, Georgia and lived most of his life in McDuffie County, Georgia. He was a 1981 graduate of Thomson High School and had worked as a furniture refinisher. Mr. Smith was a volunteer at MANNA and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother, Emily Cason Smith; sisters, Debbie Hughes and husband, Bob, Connie Jones and husband, Tommy; nephews, Eric Jones and Daniel Hughes; and best friend, Barry Hunt, all of Thomson, Georgia. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, Roy Olin Smith and nephew, Matthew Jones.
