David Wayne Kinzle

David Wayne Kinzle

Born August 1, 1959 in Iola, Kansas. The 5th born child to Floyd Kinzle and Mary Joan McCully.

David was close with his siblings Janetha, Cheri, Ernie and Terry. He spent his childhood in Kansas and in the early 80's he and all his siblings moved to Southern California and started a great big life that followed with lots of kids and grand kids.

David was honest, intelligent, loved sharing a meal with his loved ones and had an awesome sense of humor, he never let anything bother him. His ideal use of freetime would be spent golfing with his brother Terry or working in his yard. He loved roadtrips, singing along to Elvis and George Strait while he drove. He especially loved roadtrips that took him back to Kansas where he went fishing in the Neosho River.

As a single father, David maintained a successful career as a civil Engineer and he excelled in this field. His ability to adapt to a changing career atmosphere and create amazing work had him highly saught after, he worked hard and received accolades and awards for his DOT grant proposals. David worked for 40 years in this industry, including time spent in Canada where his daughters were born. Over 35 years of that time was spent in the San Bernardino and Riverside Counties in Southern California, helping cities grow during Californias incredible time of developement. He took especially great care working for Safe Routes to School programs, moulding city roadways to include bike paths and side walks for children to commute safely.

David had two daughters, Emerald and Julie, whom he cared for and loved more than anything else in life. He would do absolutely anything for those girls and lived to make their lives as easy and happy as possible. His girls eventually brought to him three granddaughters whom he loved, if possible, even greater than his own daughters. He married his second wife, Kirsty, after his daughters had started their own lives. They had recently moved to South Carolina to be close to his daughter Julie, son-in-law Alex and grand daughters Macy and baby Olivia who was on the way.

In his last days, David found joy riding his lawnmower around the Kinzle Farm and remodeling his home with his wife. He loved the planning phase and drawing up designs. He was so proud watching his projects go from blueprint to reality and working on this brought him much joy. Because he was working from home, David was also able to spend lots of quality time with his family, which is what he enjoyed most in life. He grew an even deeper bond with his oldest grand daughter Macy and they shared many days and nights together. He got to hold his baby Olivia and watch her grow. He also spent many hours on Facetime with his daughter Emerald, watching baby Lila learn to walk and dance and play, waiting for borders to open so he could hold her as well. He had slowed down his life and was loving every minute.

David passed from a sudden heart attack in his home, with his wife by his side on Wednesday October 6, 2021.

He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
