Norwood, GA – Mr. David Lewis Harper, 78, of Hall Street entered into rest November 14, 2015. Mr. Harper was born in Norwood, Georgia to the late Roy Lee Harper and Evie Brewer Harper. He was a lifelong resident of Warren County and was the owner and operator of Harper's Electric and Plumbing. Mr. Harper served on the Norwood City Council for 6 years and as the Mayor for the past 25 years. He was a member of Norwood United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Billy Harper, James Harper and Carl Harper.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Sybil Nichols Harper; daughters, Pam (David) McCord of Norwood, GA, Donna (Mark) Phillips of Gibson, GA; brother, Charles (Mary Bessie) Harper and sister, Helen (Lewis) Newsome both of Warrenton, GA; grandchildren, Alicia (Dustin) Usry, Brandon (Cassie) Phillips; great grandchild, Layla Usry and his best bud, "Levi".

Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock a.m., Tuesday, November 17th at the Norwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Richards, Rev. David Jenkins and Jimmy Waller officiating. Interment will follow at Scruggs Cemetery, Norwood. It is the family's desire that memorial contributions be made to the Norwood United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 114, Norwood, GA 30821. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, November 16th at the funeral home.

Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, Georgia is in charge.
