Mr. Darwin Gilmer, 79, Warrenton, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on December 7, 2022.

Darwin was born in Warren County, Georgia on July 29, 1943, and lived and grew up there.  He was a construction worker for Knox Rivers Construction and continued there and retired from there after it became Reeves Construction.  Darwin enjoyed watching college football and western movies, loved spending time with his family and friends and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Gilmer is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Frances Axon Gilmer; his parents, Bruce Gilmer and Mary Smith Gilmer; his brothers, J. D. Gilmer, Marvin Gilmer, Bobby Gilmer, Manor Gilmer, and Pete Gilmer and his sister, Faye Gilmer Harrison.  His survivors include his son, Joseph "Joey" Gilmer (Kim); his brother, Dave Gilmer (Gail); his granddaughter, Cady Leeann Wise (Matt); his great grandson, Owen Wise; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at graveside on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Little Brier Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Warrenton, Georgia with his graveside service to follow at 10:00 a.m.  Rev.
