Born on October 8, 1957, in Youngstown, Ohio, Darlene's journey was one marked by devotion, intelligence, and an unshakable belief in the power of the Holy Spirit. Preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Margaret Cohol Reese, and her cherished son Derek, Darlene's memory will be treasured by her devoted husband of 42 years, Dan, her son Drew, and her sister Marsha, and brothers Terry, Roger, and Daryl. Her spirit will continue to inspire her family, who were the cornerstone of her life and the primary beneficiaries of her love and wisdom. Darlene's childhood years were spent in Youngstown, where she graduated from Girard High School in 1975. She continued to expand her knowledge and horizons at Youngstown State, earning her degree in 1979, and later at Otterbein College, where she completed her studies in 1983. Afterwards, she began a successful ten-year career as a software engineer. The birth of her children brought a new chapter in Darlene's life, as she transitioned from the world of technology to the all-encompassing role of motherhood. She approached this new vocation with the same dedication and heart she applied to every endeavor, raising her sons with love, guidance, and the strong moral compass that defined her character. Darlene's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She played an integral role in Kingdom Impact Ministries, where she was not just a member, but a key support patron. Her involvement in prayer calls, worship, and discipleship was a testament to her commitment to her beliefs and her desire to serve others. Darlene's dedication to spreading the word of God led her on mission trips to Southeast Ohio, Morocco, and Israel, where she touched lives and spread kindness with every step. Those who knew Darlene will remember her conviction that the Holy Spirit is as present and active today as at the dawn of time. She lived this belief daily, inspiring others through her actions and her words. As a prolific writer, Darlene published weekly devotionals that reached a wide audience, offering spiritual support and guidance to believers and non-believers alike. Her writings were a source of comfort, encouragement, and enlightenment to all who read them. In 2022, Darlene and her husband, Dan, moved to McCormick, South Carolina, to enjoy the tranquility and joy of retirement. Even in this quieter phase of life, Darlene's effervescent spirit and unwavering faith did not dim. She continued to engage with her community, share her wisdom, and live a life that was a true reflection of her faith-filled and intelligent nature.
