Thomson, GA- Mrs. Connie Johnson Buffington, 84, entered into rest May 27, 2017 at University Hospital-McDuffie.

Mrs. Buffington was born in Warren County to the late Duvall Johnson and the late Maggie Guy Johnson. She was retired from the McDuffie County Health Department as an LPN and worked at Wal-mart in Thomson. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Will Buffington; brother, Orvin Johnson; sisters, Vivian Smith, Ethma May, Lucy J. Bryant, Garland J. Dye, Eloise J. Cook and Myram J. Reese.

Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Thigpen and grandson, Clay Thigpen both of Thomson, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock p.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Interment will follow in Mesena United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Tuesday at the funeral home.
