Clois Witt

Clois W. Witt Thomson, GA-Mrs. Clois W. Witt, 80, of Huntington Rd., NE entered into rest August 18, 2015 at University Hospital. She was the widow of Robert Daniel "Jack" Witt. Mrs. Witt was born in Columbia, Louisiana to the late G. Lee Warner and the late Cliffie Kate Duke Taylor. She moved to Thomson, Georgia in 1972 and worked for the McDuffie County Hospital as an R.N. and Head Nurse. She began her career with the Public Health Department in 1979. She briefly worked with Home Health Care but enjoyed visiting more than writing up the visits.  After retiring years ago, she continued working and even volunteering at times. She most recently worked in the District 6 Department of Public Health Immunizations Office tracking down children in need of immunizations. She would go into every neighborhood and knock on any door to find the children in need of immunizations. She loved her clients and would stop at nothing to get them the care they needed. She loved Thomson, her community, her church, Thomson First United Methodist Church, her family, her numerous friends and baking sugar cookies. Honduras mission work was her passion and Pastor Esther in Honduras was her friend. She lived life fully and inspired others with her adventurous spirit. Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Brooks of Martinez, GA; Laurie Crossley and husband, Jim and grandchildren, Sarah Crossley and Anna Crossley all of Roswell, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Clois Witt may be made to: Thomson First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Thomson, GA 30824 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Jacob's Chapel Cemetery in Ripley, Mississippi. Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, Georgia is in charge.
