Mrs. Cindy Lou Trammell Wilson, 68, of Thomson, Georgia, passed away June 1, 2024. Cindy was born on March 1, 1956, in Houston, Texas, to the late George Glen and Patsy Ruth Wilson Trammell.
After graduating from Friendswood High School, she attended Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas. Cindy was a dancer at heart and by trade. While in high school, she and her mother formed the Wranglerettes Dance and Drill Team, and at Kilgore College she was a member of the world famous Rangerettes as a member of Line 35. With the Rangerettes, she traveled the country performing at various events including the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. Prior to her passing, she was planning to perform with the Rangerettes Forever in the Cotton Bowl scheduled for 2025.
In 1975, Cindy married Robert (Bob) Norman Wilson Jr. and moved to his hometown of Thomson to start their family of four children. Raising them in a loving Christian home was their number one priority. While in Thomson, she introduced her love and enthusiasm of dancing to countless children over the years. She was the owner of Cindy's School of Dance, where she taught tap, ballet and jazz. She also taught dance classes as part of the afterschool enrichment program for McDuffie County Schools. For almost 30 years, she found great joy working with Social, Inc., an organization that teaches ballroom dancing and etiquette in Augusta.
Cindy was an active member of Thomson First Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, youth volunteer, and as a den mother for her son's Cub Scout troop. She was also a former member and three-time past president of the Pine Needle Garden Club. She loved to entertain and frequently opened her home to host many events for family, friends, and the community. Cindy loved to celebrate everything, especially holidays with her grandchildren, her heart and soul. Everything she was involved in proved to be over-the-top, and she wouldn't have it any other way.
In 1996, she was selected to serve as a torchbearer for the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. She carried the torch through a section of McDuffie County bordering the Wilson Farm. Family and friends cheered her on as she proudly represented the community.
Cindy is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Trammell (Ryan) Bright of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Martha Delle (Scott) Smith of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Mrs. Patty Bea (Kempton) Presley of Nashville, Tennessee, son, Dr. Robert Norman (Anne Walker) Wilson III of Nashville, Tennessee, her brother, George Glen Trammell, her sister, Wendy Mendenhall, both of Texas. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren J.R., Nolia, and Braxton Bright, Scott Jr., Wilson, and Layton Smith, Kemp and Lucy Bea Presley, and Cecy Wilson who lovingly called her "Lou Lou". She was proceeded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Bob, to whom she was married for 42 years.
