Christina Stewart Payton

Mrs. Christina Stewart Payton, 42, entered into rest Saturday, August 4, 2012 in Fayetville, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Larry and Juanita Davis Stewart of Lincolnton. Mrs. Payton graduated as Valedictorian from Lincoln County High School and continued her education at the University of Georgia. She was an art instructor in the Hoke County Schools and an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, having received the Order of the Arrow award and the coveted Wood Badge. A devoted Christian woman, her devotion to God and to her family was profound. Survivors in addition to her parents include her husband, William Payton; two sons, Hunter Payton and Noah Payton all of Raeford, NC; and two sisters, Doris Lankford of Lincolnton and Margie Stewart of Augusta. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from the Martins Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church, Lincolnton. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Boy Scouts of America or to any Autistic Research Foundation.
