Mr. Charles Wayne Young, 57, passed away at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, on Monday, December 25, 2017.

Mr. Young, son of the late James Edward and Peggy Ann Norton Young, was a native of Dunn, North Carolina, and had lived in Lincoln County for about 7 years.  He was employed by the Department of Energy, Savannah River Site as a nuclear weapons specialist engineer from 1988-2000.

He is survived by his fiancèe, Sarah Louise Hayes; daughters, Chrissi Young Carota,  Angela Young Smith, Allyson Young Upton; brothers, Jamie Young and Chris Young, sister, Lisa Young Grimm; grandchildren, Ronin Perry Carota, Emerie Carota, Max Smith, Lila Upton, Lyndon Upton, and Wyatt Upton.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 11 A.M. at Dunn's Chapel United Methodist Church, Appling, Ga. Interment will follow in Lincolnton City Cemetery, Lincolnton, Ga.

Beggs Funeral Home, 200 May Avenue, Lincolnton, Georgia, is in charge of the service.
