Charles Jason Verner

Charles Jason Verner, known affectionately as Jason by his loved ones, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia, at the age of 55.

Born on April 23, 1970, in Houston County, Georgia and later moved to Washington during his middle school years. He was a graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School, class of 1988. Following his graduation, Jason embarked on a successful career in the automobile industry. He began at Bob Richards Chevrolet, where he quickly advanced to the positions of sales manager and finance manager. His expertise in the field led him to work with several other dealerships, including Rader Mercedes, Taylor Toyota, and Master GMC to name a few. In his later years, he operated an automobile wholesaling business. His keen eye for detail and unparalleled knowledge of used cars allowed him to appraise vehicles with an accuracy that was second to none. Jason's choice of vehicle was always practical, favoring deals on white or silver cars, regardless of the make or model.

A man of many interests, Jason enjoyed spending time on the golf course, following professional golf, and was an ardent fan of NASCAR and Georgia Bulldogs Football. His personality was as endearing as it was entertaining; Jason never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. He was known for his friendly demeanor, always ready with a compliment or a word of appreciation. Though he could be a stubborn smart aleck at times, it was this same quality that added to his charm and wit.

Jason's memory will be cherished and kept alive by his beloved wife, Pam Tuttle Verner; his mother, Meariam Hughes Verner; his daughters, Taylor Verner and Will of Augusta, and Jennifer Davis and her husband James of Washington; his brother, Justin Verner and wife Cassie of Douglasville; his grandchildren, Otis Gibb, Adeline Gibb, Cecilia Gibb, and Gilbert "Gil" Davis; and his nieces and nephews, Cara Verner, Austin Verner, and James Verner. He also leaves behind his faithful springadore, Gus, who was a constant companion and source of joy. Jason was preceded in death by his father, Charles Gary Verner.

Jason's departure has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of laughter, kindness, and an unwavering zest for life will continue to inspire his family and friends. As we bid farewell to Jason, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
