Charles Douglas Joyner, Sr., 78, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on February 26, 2022.

Charles was born in Ohoopee, Georgia on January 23, 1944, grew up in Vidalia, Georgia and lived most of his adult life in Thomson, Georgia.  He was Baptist by faith and a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Thomson, Georgia.  Charles enjoyed fishing, reading, animals, gardening and watching westerns.  He especially loved spending time with his family and friends and being the greatest "Pe Pa".

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius Homer Joyner and Clara Mae Bush Joyner; his son, Doug Joyner; his daughter Sandra Dowd and his grandson, Duston Cartrette.  He is survived by his wife, Nell Allen Joyner; his daughter Susie Joyner of Thomson, Georgia; his son, Adam Joyner of Vidalia, Georgia; his stepson, Stephen Keene (April) of Thomson, Georgia; his grandchildren, Marie Gresham, Courtney Joyner, Josh Dowd, Colby Cartrette, Channing Joyner, Brendon Joyner and Maggie Allen and many great grandchildren.

His Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, and his Funeral Service, being officiated by Rev. Jimmy Napier, at 2:00 p.m. following the visitation in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia with the interment at Westview Cemetery following the service.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
