Mr. Charles Edward "Chuck" Eichem, 81 of 158 Rhett Drive, McCormick entered into rest March 19th at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. A native of Mt. Carmel, IL, Mr. Eichem had been a resident of the Savannah Lakes Community for the past nineteen years, moving here from Glen Ellyn, IL. He was active in that community having served on various committees such as Communications, Finance in the Village, the Road Warriors, and with his wife, administered the Village Neighborlink. He was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in their first Missionary Technical Course and attended Electronics School both in Indiana and Michigan. Mr. Eichem was an active member of McCormick First Baptist Church where he had served a deacon, Sunday School teacher, on the Finance Committee, and chair of the Pastor Search Committee. His family described him as a loving and caring husband and father, a Christian man who lived his faith in front of his family and friends. They praise God for his eternal home in Heaven. Survivors include his wife Noreen Fraser Eichem; two sons: Charles Edward Eichem, II and wife, Carol, and Thomas Eichem and wife, Nichole; four daughters: Sandra Richter and husband, Steve, Debra Rawski and husband, Mark, Pamela Poulos and husband, Scott, and Kathy Simmons, and husband Kenny. Also surviving are twenty-one grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial Services will be conducted at 1:00pm on Friday, March 23rd , 2012 from the McCormick First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to McCormick First Baptist Church, 108 South Oak Street McCormick, SC 29835.
