Carson Lee Thompson, Jr., 82, of Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on September 4, 2024.

He was born in Screven County, Georgia on May 2, 1942, grew up in Sylvania, Georgia and lived most of his adult life in North Augusta, South Carolina before moving to Thomson, Georgia in his later years.  Carson was a butcher by trade and worked at Red & White Grocery and Kroger before retiring.  He loved horses and driving ponies and won many competition awards and ribbons for doing what he loved.  Carson also loved dogs, going to horse shows and gospel concerts and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Carson is preceded in death by his parents, Carson Lee Thompson, Sr. and Lucille Crews Thompson.  His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Robbie Eunice Dunagan Thompson; his son, Morgan James Thompson (April); his daughter, Michelle Lee Thompson (Chip Asbelle); his sister, Ann Reeves; his grandchildren, Lane Blackwell (Christina), Trever Thompson and Madalyn Thompson; his niece, Kimberly Ann Gilmer his nephew, Richard A. McClain and other extended family.

The family will receive friends at Second Baptist Church, 1249 Earle Street, Thomson, Georgia, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.  His memorial service, being officiated by Rev.
