Carolyn Heard Snider

Carolyn Heard Snider, 83, of Martinez, Georgia, passed away peacefully at Doctors Hospital on September 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Carolyn was born in Wilkes County, Georgia, to Tom and Grace Dawkins Heard. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and caring nature touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Above all else, Carolyn loved her family. She especially treasured time with her granddaughters, and there was nothing that made her happier than having her family gathered together. She will be remembered for her caring heart, wonderful sense of humor, and the way she always put others before herself.

Carolyn retired from Augusta National Golf Club as the senior administrative assistant of the golf course and nursery in 2005 after 24 years of dedicated service. During her many years there, she formed friendships that meant so much to her. She loved all of her “guys” on the golf course and in the nursery as if they were her own sons, and they always held a special place in her heart. After retirement, she was able to spend more time with her grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ronald Snider; her daughter, Rhonda Dowdy (Jody); her son, Bryan Snider; her granddaughters, Sarah Dowdy and Jessica Dowdy; and her niece, Cathy Armour (Robert “Pee Wee”).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Heard and Grace Dawkins Heard, and her brothers, Mack Heard and Jack Heard.

Carolyn leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories and a family who loved her dearly. Her kindness, laughter, and love for others will continue to live on through all those whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tignall Baptist Church in Carolyn’s memory.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25,2026, at 4:00 PM at the Tignall Cemetery with a visitation at Tignall Baptist Church from 3:00 PM until the time of the service.
