Ms. Camille Hogan Leverette was born in Lincoln County, Georgia on December 12, 1922. She gained her angel wings and transitioned from this life of 95 years on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at her home. She was the third of seven children born to the late Ace and Maude Mariney Hogan.
She was often called "Granny", "Aunt Camille", and "Cook" by all those who knew her. During her long, blessed life, she worked in many capacities that earned her the titles of cook and caretaker.
Ms. Camille accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with the New Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lincolnton, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Jessie Mae Hunter and Genetta Hines; a sister, Blanche Hogan Mariney; and two brothers, David Hogan and Pleas Hogan.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories a sister, Elizabeth Hogan Lowe, Augusta, GA; brothers, L.B. Hogan, Philadelphia, PA, and Bobby and wife Beatrice Hogan, Lincolnton, GA; grandchildren, Roy C. and wife Kimberly Hunter, Gloria and husband Victor McClendon, Rickey and wife Jacqueline Hunter, Rose Marie Hunter, Tracy Hines, and Carolyn O. Hunter; 18 Great-Grandchildren; 22 Great-Great Grandchildren; a devoted caretaker, Rose Marie Hunter; special friends, Brad Reid, Kimberly Ferguson Elam, and Daniel McCord; a host of nieces/nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 2pm at New Tabernacle Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the St Luke Cemetery. Repast will be at New Tabernacle Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 7pm until 8pm at Beggs Funeral Home, 200 May Ave., Lincolnton, Phone: 706-359-4117.
