Biography

Brian Marchant Thomson, Georgia- Mr. Brian "Cowboy" Marchant, 61 of Sagamore Drive entered into rest February 2, 2011 at the Medical College of Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 5, 2011 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Hwy. 43, Lincolnton, Georgia with Rev. Melissa Weathers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Danny McGowan, Jack Hughes, Billy Reese, David Turner, Wayne Infinger, Dean Jackson, Ronnie Jackson and Johnny Byrd. Mr. Marchant was born in Charleston, South Carolina and was the son of the late Leonard S. Marchant and the late Frances Murray Marchant. He was a 1967 graduate of Carlisle Military School. Mr. Marchant was a finish carpenter with Cozart Construction in Harlem, Georgia. In his spare time he enjoyed horseback riding and racing boats. Mr. Marchant was a Methodist by faith. Survivors include his wife, Judy Ferguson Marchant of Thomson, Georgia; daughter, Melissa "Missy" Culpepper and husband, Brian of Grovetown, Georgia; step-children, Todd Marchant of Martinez, Georgia, Britney Johnson and husband, Sam of Warrenton, Georgia, Marcianne Aycock of Thomson, Georgia, Russell Aycock of Lincolnton, Georgia; sister, Elaine Steedley of Bamburg, South Carolina; half-sister Phyllis Marchant; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church 3235 Thomson Hwy. Lincolnton, Georgia 30817. Friends may call at the residence or from 6 until 8 pm, Friday at the funeral home.
