Thomson,  Georgia- Mr. Bobby Wilson Powell, 78, entered into rest January 5, 2017.

Mr. Powell was born in Augusta, GA to the late Wilson D. Powell and the late Trudie Juanita Green Powell. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Powell was an avid fisherman. In 1973, Mr. Powell moved to Thomson, GA and later owned and operated Raysville Bait and Tackle for over 30 years.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Gertie Powell; children, Charles M. Williams (Judy) of Snellville, GA, Richard S. Williams (Karen) of Thomson, GA, Deborah Wilson (Mike) of Muscle Shoals, AL, Shannon Beane of North Augusta, SC, Robert H. Murphy of Thomson, GA, and Lisa Powell Davis (Glenn) of Lincolnton, GA; brother, Burnon Powell of Mathews, GA; 14 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock a.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jon Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta, GA.

Memorials may be made to any Cancer, Heart or Kidney Association. The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice Care for there love and support of Bobby during his illness.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
