Bobby Don Way

Bobby Don Way, 90, of Lakeside Drive, Appling, GA entered into eternal rest July 17, 2022, at his residence.

Mr. Way was born in Metter, Candler County, Georgia on May 7, 1932, to the late Samuel Amos Way and Iness Benton Way.  He received a Specialist Degree from the University of Georgia and was retired from his career as a public educator and Principal from the Houston County Board of Education.  Bobby grew up in Swainsboro, was the head football coach of Evans High School from 1962-1968, enjoyed RV traveling, all types of sports, deer hunting, fishing and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Way was predeceased by his wife, Kittye Alice Dortch Way; his stepfather, Gene Coleman; his son, Joey Way; his brother Sam Way and his stepbrother, Nerl Coleman.

His survivors include his sons, Robert (Bob) Way of Decatur, Georgia and Bryan Way (Robin) of Warner Robins; his brother, Charles Coleman of Davenport, Iowa; and his grandchildren, Taylor Way Butler (Devonte) and Kylie Way.

Visitation will be held at Beggs Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, and a graveside service will be held on July 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the cemetery adjacent to Sharon Baptist Church, 6262 Cobbham Road, Appling, GA with Rev. Andy Collins officiating.

It is the family's desire that memorial contributions be made in lieu of flowers to Sharon Baptist Church Youth Fund, 6262 Cobbham Road, Appling, GA  30802.
