Bobby Newsome

Avera, Georgia- Mr. Bobby Newsome, 58, entered into rest August 19, 2016.

Mr. Newsome was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County and was the son of the late Cecil Newsome and the late Willie Maude Brooks Newsome. Mr. Newsome was a carpenter and mechanic and served as caretaker of the Omaha Springs Hotel for 28 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved the outdoors.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Brenda Newsome; daughters, Pamela Sue Norton and Bobbie Allison Norton; brother, Thurmond Newsome (Joyce); sisters, Brenda Ray (Raymond), Betty Newsome, Lisa Newsome, Cindy Wells (Tommie); mother-in-law, Dianne James Curl; three granddaughters and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 5 o'clock p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Wrens Church of God with Pastor Jason Burton and Brother Clarence Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Wrens Church of God Cemetery in Matthews, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
