BILLY DOWNS RETIRED B.P. OIL COMPANY MR. RICHARD WILLIAM " BILLY" DOWNS 75 of Lincolnton,GA entered into rest December 13, 2007 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Prater officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Bobby Downs, Robert Downs, Christopher Downs, Vernon Downs, Keith Downs, Richard Downs and Roy Dye. Mr. Downs was a native of Glascock County lived in Martinez for many years before retiring to Lincolnton, GA. He was the son of the late Ira Downs,Sr. and the late Nancy Todd Downs. He was retired from B.P. Oil Company as a store manager and was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Survivors include: Beloved wife for 55 years, Jeanette Dye Downs-Lincolnton,GA Brothers: Ira Downs,Jr.- Juliet, Tenn. Samuel T. Downs-Harlem,GA David Downs-Atlanta,GA Tommy Downs-Winder,GA Timmy Downs-Salt Lake City,Utah Sister- Ann McCoy- Warrenton,GA A number of nieces and nephews.
