Billy "Bill" Crocket Lanier

Billy Crocket "Bill" Lanier, 86, entered into eternal rest on June 3, 2024, at his residence.

Bill was born in Garfield, Georgia, to the late Marley C. "Pop" Lanier and the late Laura Mae Bell "Ma" Johnson Lanier.  He was an Air Force Veteran who proudly served his country.  He worked for International Paper as Power House Coordinator.   As a musician and with his deep love of music, he played with the Backyard Jammers Band, where he and the other members of the band performed for many local venues.  Bill was known for being selfless and always thinking of others and he loved his family as well as his extended family including numerous nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his wife, Iris Price; his daughter, Malinda "Mindi" Lanier Penaranda; two sons, Mark Price (Dawn) and Randy Price; Grandchildren, Justin Price (Caitlyn), Amanda Price, Matthew Price; one great-grandson, Banks Alford; and his sister, Jeannine Lanier Renew. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Mark Lanier; his four brothers, Bobby Lanier, Pat Lanier, Jack and Roland Lanier and four sisters, Hazel Rhoden, Betty O'Connell, Shirley Cumbee, and Polly Dampier Cumbee.

A Memorial will be held in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, Georgia on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  A Celebration of Life Service will be officiated by Polly Davis at the memorial.  After the service, there will be a private graveside interment for the family only.
