Billie Linden Tuttle, 85, died September 6, 2013 in Warrenton, GA. He was born in Reed, OK on February 25, 1928 to Floyd and Mary (Culpepper) Tuttle. Following four years of Engineering School at Kansas State University, he married Geraldine Sanford of Chicago, IL and they returned to farm with his dad in Tribune, KS. They had 6 children: Dr. Louise Yates (Jim), Jewell, GA; Kathy Nowlin (Mike), Lakeside, CA; Elaine King (Mike), Moundridge, KS; Linden Lee Tuttle, Tribune, Ks, deceased; Susan Bazal (Jackie), Jewell, GA; and Barbara Lanier (John) Yukon, OK, daughter-in-law Genia Tuttle, Lawrence, KS Bill was a Civil Air Patrol and Flying Farmers member, Farm Bureau leader, 32 nd degree Mason, active in his church, was a community band member, local hospital board member, and he flew cloud seeding missions during the drought in the 1960's. He and his dad were very successful dry land farmers who were innovative building larger, more efficient farming equipment including the Tuttle Two-Way Tiller and 40 foot width header on combines. Following the family tradition, his son joined the farming operation in the 1970's. Not only was Bill a loving father, he was a wonderful teacher to his children as well as other youngsters whose lives he touched, imparting to them a strong work ethic, love for God and country, and respect for their fellow man. Bill has been at the Warrenton Health and Rehab Center for the past 3 years where his loving, kind and gentle spirit flourished, thanks to the staff and fellow residents. He is survived by his wife, 5 daughters, and his sister Lee MacDuffie (Bruce) of Oxford, NY; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one niece, two nephews and many cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any charitable donations go to the Warrenton Health and Rehab Resident Council Fund. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
