Betty Dye Williams, 91, Thomson, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward "Junior" Williams.
Mrs. Williams was a native of Warren County but lived in Thomson all her adult life. She retired from the Thomson Company with 44 years of service. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She volunteered many hours of service with the Thomson Fire Department benefits throughout the years. She held many titles but was most affectionately known to many as Grannie.
Betty lived a simple, fulfilled life with her family, particularly her grandchildren, as the primary source of her joy. She had a wonderful sense of humor that brought a smile to everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength, independence and generosity.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Donald David "Nick" Dye and Johnnie Mae Hilson Dye; her husband, Junior Williams; her son, Jimmy E. Williams and he great granddaughter, Alivia J. Brooks. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Williams Brooks (Michael); daughter-in-law, Debbie N. Williams; her grandchildren, Jimmy Williams, Jr. (Shannon), Mikki Shaffer (Hank), Michael Brooks, Jr. (Brittany), Casey Evans (A.J.) and her great grandchildren, Anna Beth Brooks, Adalynn James Brooks, Brooks Evans, Emma Evans, Emily Leggett and Jordan Leggett, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia with the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Allen Yarborough, to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel and the burial following at Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the residence of Michael and Donna Brooks at 169 Timberwood Drive, Thomson, Georgia.
Betty spent the last couple of years of her life at Thomson Health and Rehab where she was given loving care by Dr. Frank Powell and staff. Her family will be eternally grateful for the kindness and care she received at this stage of her life.
