Betty Robertson Toulson
Gibson, Georgia- Mrs. Betty Robertson Toulson, 82, of Scarber Rd., Gibson, GA entered into rest January 6, 2017. She was the beloved widow of William "Billy" Toulson.
Betty was born in Vancouver, Washington to the late Archie Robertson and the late Leona Fields Robertson. She was a talented lady with varied interests who enjoyed playing music; piano, organ, guitar, bass, violin, autoharp, mandolin, viola, harmonica, and ukulele. She was a past member of Desert Country Musicians in Casa Grande, Arizona. She had a passion for singing and writing songs and poetry. Painting, quilting, crocheting, knitting, macramé, sewing, traveling, hunting, fishing, and reading were among her many hobbies. Never one to shy away from house projects, she tried her hand at carpentry, electrical, and plumbing with some success. While these endeavors brought much joy, her greatest loves were her children and grandchildren who adored her as well. At the end of her life she was eager to see her Jesus. She was a member of the Bastonville Home Demonstration Club and Magnolia Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Toulson was predeceased by sons, Johnny Toulson, Ronny Toulson; brother, Archie Robertson; sister, Sharon Ballhorn; granddaughter, Jennifer Toulson and great great grandson, Gunnar Steele.
Survivors include her children: Jeffrey Toulson (Susan), Chandler, AZ, William "Billy" Toulson (Deloria), Claxton, GA; daughter, Vicky Toulson Usry (Craig), Gibson, GA; daughter-in-law, Leigh Ann Toulson, Franklinton, NC; 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; brother, George Robertson (Sandra), Long Beach, WA; sister, Myrna Zeider, Battleground, WA.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:30 p.m, Tuesday, January 10 th at Magnolia Baptist Church, Gibson followed by a Celebration of Life at 4 o'clock p.m., with Dr. Randall Whitaker, Rev. Tommy Pulliam, and Dr. James Canada officiating.
Friends may also call the residence of Vicky and Craig Usry, 5479 Bastonville Rd., Gibson, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Georgia Baptist Children's Home.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
