Betty Cecile Thomas Lanier, 84, Washington, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on September 20, 2022.

Betty was born in Mobile, Alabama on November 6, 1937, and grew up in Mobile.  Prior to her retirement, she worked with International Company in Mobile, Alabama and continued her education by earning an Associate's Degree in Business.  She moved to Georgia seven years ago to spend time with her son, and worked for a local law firm in Augusta, Georgia as a receptionist.  Betty enjoyed going to Church, painting, reading and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Roy Thomas and Nancy Beatrice Barlow Thomas and her son, Dennis Mark Lanier.  Her survivors include her daughter, Malinda Penaranda; son-in-law, Luis Penaranda; her grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Her Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park located at 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906.
