Betty Gilbert Rodgers, 92, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2025 at her home.

Betty was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on September 15, 1932, grew up in Alabama, lived most of her life in Camak, GA and relocated to Thomson, Georgia approximately 20 years ago.  She was Baptist by faith and a member of Antioch Christian Church.  She retired as Postmaster of the USPO in Norwood, Georgia after having worked from 1961 until 1995 with the U. S. Postal Service, was a member Eastern Star Cleopatra Chapter and a member of the Post Masters League, NARFE.  She enjoyed Alabama Football, reading, playing games, dancing, dogs, bird watching, especially loved caring for others and spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Malcolm Rodgers; her parents, Claude M. Gilbert and Jenny Brown Turner Gilbert; a grand daughter Jena Denise Rodgers; and her five brothers, Marvin Gilbert, Jack Gilbert, Dinky Gilbert, Donald Gilbert and Tiny Gilbert. Betty's survivors include her sons, Richard M. Rodgers,  (Sharon) of Martinez, Charlie Rodgers (Beth) of Thomson, Jeff Rodgers (Camille) of Thomson and Mack Rodgers (Lynn) of Camak; her daughters, Diane Edenfield of Dearing and Ginger R. Taylor (Rikki) of Thomson; her sister, Doni McEwan of Arizona; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Her Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Beggs Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 p.m., and her Funeral Service, following at 2:00 p.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia officiated by Rev. Larron Pilgrim, with the interment at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens following the service. Pallbearers for the service are her grandsons.
