Bernice Welch Dearing, GA. - Mrs. Bernice Hood Welch, 81, entered into rest December 18, 2012. She was the beloved widow of Mr. John " Bill " Welch. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012 in the Chapel of Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson with Rev. Terry Joyner officiating. Mrs. Welch was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Humphrey Hood and the late Jessie Lee Hood. Mrs. Welch was retired from Thomson Company and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Dearing Baptist Church where she served as a First Grade Sunday School Teacher for many years. Survivors include her children, Sonny Welch and wife, Cindy, Kenneth Welch and wife, Beverly, Jeff Welch and wife, Melissa all of Dearing; daughter, Jewell Neal and husband, Billy of Harlem; brother, Jimmy Hood of Dearing; sister, Inez Robinson of Smithfield, VA; grandchildren, Joey Welch, Jr., Tammy Cooler, Beverly Neal, Billy Neal, Jr., Dee Hawkins, Ken Welch, Jr., Candace Welch, Elizabeth Farley, Hannah Sparks and Jesse Welch; great grandchildren, Trey Welch, Jessie Cooler, Lauren Hawkins, Hunter Hawkins, Aaron Farley, Adalynn Sparks and Leah Farley. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
