Thomson, Georgia - Mr. Benjamin Bruce Blasingame of Beechwood Drive entered into rest November 20, 2017.

Mr. Blasingame was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Georgia. He graduated from Thomson High School in 1974,  received a Bachelors degree in Banking and Finance from UGA, and later received a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Kennesaw State. Afterwards, he was employed by Cobb County Health Department and worked for the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance. He had been involved in local banking for the past 30 years, was a member of Thomson First United Methodist Church, Kiwanis International and former President of Thomson Kiwanis Club, District Lt. Governor, charter Kiwanis online member and board member, Thomson Bulldog Booster Club and was currently serving as Thomson City Councilman. His father, Bruce Blasingame and sister, Lee Ann Blasingame Ferguson preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Kate McMillan Blasingame; mother, Lora L. Blasingame both of Thomson, GA; daughters, Mary Beth Dennison and husband, Steven of Milledgeville, GA; Sarah Kate Blasingame of Greenville, SC; son, Clay Blasingame of Statesboro, GA; and grandchild, Averi Dennison.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ronny Brannen and Rev. Charles Broome officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kiwanis International, Auditory-Verbal Center, Inc. at 1901 Centery Blvd. Suite 20, Atlanta, GA 30345 or online at AVChears.org.

The family will receive friends  Tuesday evening from 6pm unitl 8pm at the funeral home.

Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
