Beeman Hix Barnett

Beeman H. Barnett went to be with Our Lord on Friday, November 04, 2016. He was born in Commerce, Jackson County, Georgia on March 17, 1931 to his parents, W. Young and Elbertice Hix Barnett. Beeman served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War. He moved to Thomson, Georgia in 1956 with A & P Food Store. He became a faithful and devoted member of First Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, Training Union Director, in the Brotherhood, in the adult choir, and worked with the youth of the church for many years cooking for banquets and fund raisers and driving across and up and down the United States helping with youth choir tours. Beeman retired from Georgia Farm Bureau of McDuffie County where he enjoyed the company of the fine people he worked with and serving the many people he met. He is predeceased by his parents, two brothers, William Barnett of Anderson, SC, Raphael Barnett, a sister, Louise Trotter, both of Commerce, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Sara W. Barnett, one son, John Barnett (Kim), five daughters, Beth Rodgers (Charles) of Thomson, Peggy Daniels (Bruce) of Martinez, Sandra Langford of Athens, Lawanna Joyner (Barry) of Alpharetta, Teresa Adams (David) of Acworth, a sister, Donie Driver of Commerce. Also, eleven grandchildren: Mina Rodgers, Dudley (Heather) Rodgers, Carmen Rodgers Anna Fulmer (Jason),Ashley Barnett, Callie Ann Barnett , Michelle Lemmon, Joshua Daniels, Adams Daniels, Sara Daniels, Will Joyner, Rachel Adams, Daniel Adams Great-grandchildren: Cameron, Charlie and Cason Rodgers, Belle and Emma Lou Fulmer.

Friends may call at the home of John and Kim Barnett, Fairway Drive, Thomson, GA. There will be a Worship Service at 11 am on Monday, November 7, 2016 in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Thomson with a luncheon and visitation to follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.
