Barbara S. Cornelison Our precious GiGi (Barbara S. Cornelison) grew her angel wings at 5:15 am on 2/21/2017. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born on 9/13/1929 in Warren County Georgia to David S. and Eva McCoy Smith, she graduated Warrenton High School and later attended Marsh Business College in Atlanta, GA. Barbara was married to her husband, B.W. Cornelison for 46 years. During this time she was employed with the federal and state governments, worked for a private industry, and finally retiring in 1993 from the Georgia Department of Labor. Ms. Cornelison was a resident of Gwinnett Christian Terrace where she was surrounded by many loving friends. Active in local churches in areas she resided, she was a member of Colonial Woods Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, GA.

Survivors are Michael (Trisha) Cornelison-son Newnan, GA; Amy (Eric) Tyler-granddaughter, Sharpsburg, GA; 4 great grandchildren that absolutely lit up her life; Austin, Haley, Preston, and Lexi Grace. Helen Braun - sister, Lilburn, GA; Faye Marshall (Pat) - sister, Athens, GA. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, husband, brothers, James, Allen, Tommy, and Cecil; sisters, Alice and Ruby; and her beloved grandson, Justin Cornelison.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2017 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Don Mulkey officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m., Friday prior to the funeral.
