Life Legacy

Audrey Edmunds Harlem, Georgia- Mrs. Audrey Ann Baggett Edmunds, 75, entered into rest January 4, 2012 at Thomson Health and Rehabilitation. She was the beloved wife of the late Barrett Meldeau Edmunds. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, Thomson with the Revs. George James, III and John Barnes officiating. Mrs. Edmunds was born in Dearing, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Horace Thedford Baggett and the late Mary Cornelia Fullbright Baggett. She was retired from Civil Service with over 40 years service as Secretary to the Director of Facilities Engineering. Mrs. Edmunds was a faithful and devoted member of the Harlem United Methodist Church, and she was very active in the Chancel Choir, United Methodist Women, the Dave Sargent Bible Class, and served as Chair of the Board of Trustees, and for many years as Secretary to the Administrative Board of the Church. In addition to this, she was a member of the Harlem Women's Club, and the Pioneer Garden Club. Survivors include her children; Angie Edmunds Johnson (Jay) of Harlem, Karen Edmunds Simpson (Scot) of Grovetown, Donald James Edmunds (John A. Adams) of Augusta,Trent Darrell Edmunds of Harlem; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, and very special friends Gwendolyn Dortch, Julia D. Prather, and Margie Bennett. Friends may call the residences of Mrs. Edmunds' children or prior to the service and following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flower arrangements, memorials may be made to Columbia County Community Connections, 399 Church Street, Harlem, Georgia 30814.
