Arnold Wood

Gibson, Georgia – Mr. Edwin Arnold Wood, 80, entered into rest May 19, 2020.

Mr. Wood was born in Warrenton, GA, the son of the late Henry Grady Wood and the late Iree Davis Wood.  He worked for Federal Paperboard for 28 years and then as a heavy equipment operator for Warren County where he was known as the greatest road scraper.  Mr. Wood was a member of Long Creek Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Billy Wayne Wood, Luke Wood, and Jimmy Taylor; and by his sisters, Myra Bragg and Montene Langham.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Masters Wood; son, Henry Wood (Judy) and James Usry (Missie); daughters, Rachele Chalander, Diane Thompson, Lynette Johnson (Raymond), Gail Usry (Scotty), Brenda Bradley (William), Lora Carr (Andrew), and Debbie Smith (Tommy); brother, William Wood (Kathryn); sister, Nyra Langham; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2020 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel.
