Mrs. Annie Kate "Pete" Strother
Lincolnton , Ga
Mrs. Annie Kate "Pete" Strother, 97, entered into rest late Friday evening at Harper's Personal Care Home in Washington. She had been a resident there for the past seven years.
Mrs. Strother, daughter of the late George W. and Nannie Mae Turner Thornton, had lived in Wilkes County all of her life. She retired from Royal Manufacturing and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. Her husband, Claude E. Strother and daughter, Georgia Ann Strother Saggus, preceded her in death.
She and her friend, George Nolan Long, brought much joy to many children as they played Mr & Mrs Claus each Christmas season.
She will be greatly missed by her family including:
Daughter: Inez Hall and husband, Lewis of Washington
Son: Henry Strother and wife, Beth of Washington
7 Grandchildren
9 Great- grandchildren
4 Great- great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 1 st at 3 o'clock p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Wilkes County with Rev. Ficklen Guin officiating. Interment will follow in the Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandson and great- grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the hour of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Strother may be made to Harper's Personal Care Home. Washington, Ga.
