Anne Frazer Charping, 92, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, at Southern Manor Senior Living in Washington, Georgia.
Born on November 28, 1931, in Wilkes County, Georgia, Anne's life was marked by her faith-filled spirit and intelligent mind, which guided her through a life of service, family, and community involvement.
Anne was a beacon of intelligence and faith throughout her life. She embarked on her educational journey at Metasville School and later graduated from Washington High School. Her thirst for knowledge led her to North Georgia College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Anne's professional life began at Rayle EMC, where she excelled as an office manager. Eventually, she chose to focus on her home and family, embracing the role of a homemaker with the same passion and dedication she applied to her career.
Her commitment to her community was evident through her active involvement in various organizations. She was a cherished member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, where she lovingly kept the nursery and assisted with Vacation Bible School. Anne also served as a Washington Cub Scouts Den Mother and was a proud member of the Memory Lane Cruisers Car Club and Cattleman's Association. Alongside her late husband, Joe Leonard Charping, Anne shared a passion for classic cars, and they enjoyed showing their meticulously restored 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air and 1966 Chevrolet Caprice at various events.
Anne's interests were as diverse as they were engaging. She was an excellent cook, often preparing meals that brought her family together around the table. Sewing was another talent of hers, and she crafted all of her clothes with skill and care. Anne found joy in working alongside her husband on their farm, where they shared many cherished moments. Her love for reading, solving crossword puzzles, and tending to her garden were simple pleasures that enriched her life and the lives of those around her.
Anne's legacy is carried on by her devoted son, Joe Thomas Charping and his wife Donna, and her loving daughter, Joann C. Baldwin. Her spirit will forever be reflected in the eyes of her grandchildren, Amanda Charping Holloway, Joe Christopher Charping, Laura Baldwin Seabolt, and Joseph Brian Baldwin. Her great-grandchildren, Kinley Charping, Leighton Charping, Wyatt Holloway, Eli Holloway, Leah Seabolt, and Anna Seabolt, will grow up hearing stories of their great-grandmother's kindness and strength. Anne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Leonard Charping, and her sisters, Kathleen F. Eldredge and Karol F. Granade.
As we bid farewell to Anne Frazer Charping, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey completed with grace, and a story that will continue to inspire generations to come. Anne's presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will remain a comforting presence in the hearts of those who loved her.
A special thanks to all the staff at Southern Manor Senior Living and Ali Prosnak of Regency Hospice for their wonderful and loving care of Anne during her last four years of life.
